Introduction:

What do you need to know to help you navigate successfully into your career? The work world is a professional and multifaceted place where individuals engage in various activities to produce income, contribute to society, and fulfill personal aspirations. It embodies a broad spectrum of professions, industries, and roles. It reflects the evolving needs of economies, societies, and individuals, continually adapting to technological advancements, cultural shifts, and global challenges. The work office may be set in a traditional or a remote environment. The work environment should be characterized by diversity and interdependence. People from different backgrounds, cultures, and skill sets meet to collaborate and innovate, driving progress and development across industries. As the work world evolves, so does the expectations and demands placed on individuals and organizations. There are certain skills employers are seeking in their employees. Employees need to have soft and hard skills such as problem solving, collaboration, leadership, communication, and technology. Rapid technological advancements are reshaping job requirements and skill sets. This makes it necessary for continuous learning and adaptation.

As you progress through this course on career readiness, you will learn responsible and sustainable practices that will enable you to function without difficulty in the work world and will help you to advance in your career.

Submission Assignment:

The Professor will provide you with a list of Employer Partners associated with the college. Your task is to research one company that you may be interested in working at as an intern and obtain the following information:

  • Name of Company
  • Date Established
  • Name of CEO or top person in charge of the company
  • Address of the company where you would like to work (If the company has more than one location, put the address of where you want to be located.)
  • Mission Statement 
  • Company History
  • Products or Services Offered by the Company
  • News and Recent Events involving the company (Keeping up with recent events involving a company will show them that you truly want to work for them.)
  • (Optional) Any other information you feel is necessary to know.

Submission Requirements:

With the information you have obtained from your research, you are to place the information in the attached (see file below) Company Information Excel worksheet and submit the file in the location the professor designates.
