If you're looking for library resources:
The Liaison Librarian for Your Discipline
A liaison librarian is assigned to each academic discipline. Your liaison can work with you to incorporate your input into collections, and to support your teaching and your students' acquisition of research skills.
Reserve Collections
During the COVID-19 emergency, many Hostos students lost access to a lifeline—the Library’s Reserve Textbook Collection. When the Library is able to safely re-open, we will not be able to offer the short-term loans of reserve textbooks because of the time needed to quarantine between check-outs.
The Library can scan selected chapters (required readings) from the physical textbooks in our reserve collection, so that faculty can provide these to students in Blackboard or via another password-protected platform.
Please note:
Required textbook readings essentially means selected chapters from textbooks. All requests will be considered by using copyright law and fair use principles. Please understand that we will not copy entire textbooks as this is against the law.
We are short staffed at this time but will work to fully accommodate faculty requests. Requests will be processed as they are received. Please send any inquiries to Mrs. Santa Ojeda, Reserves Manager at sojeda@hostos.cuny.edu.
Hostos Library has been working for several years in partnership with teaching faculty to research, adopt, and/or create alternatives to high priced textbooks. Use the link below to learn more.
