Escriba is a multilingual student literary and art journal that is published by the Hostos Community College Library each year at the end of the Spring semester. It is published in print and online at this website. Escriba is an award-winning student journal and in it are all genres of writing and paintings, photographs and other digital art. We accept submissions from current Hostos Community College students only and we encourage writing in English, Spanish, or any other language because Hostos is proud to be a multilingual, multicultural campus and we want to reflect this in our journal.

We encourage every student to submit their writing or art. You will receive several copies of the printed journal and it is not only great to have your family and friends see what you have done, but it is also great for your portfolio or your resumé!

In the near future, we will be able to include on the Escriba website, video clips with or without sound, and other digital media creations. So please contact Prof. Jennifer Tang if you are interested in submitting something you have video’d.

Escriba! /Write! won FIRST PRIZE for Best Small College Student Literary Magazine (Eastern Region) for 2006 in the annual contest sponsored by the Community College Humanities Association.
