Ranked choice voting

Ranked choice voting is a new way of voting in NYC elections. It's important to understand it so you know what to do with your ballot when you see it!

But please note: although the summer 2021 primary elections used ranked choice voting, it will not be used int he November 2021 general election.

In ranked choice voting, you can choose up to five candidates in your preferred order, instead of just voting for one person.

Faculty - for your classes

Hostos faculty, are you looking for a way to get your students thinking about ranked choice voting? Please see the worksheet linked below that Prof. Helen Chang created for use with her students. She is sharing it freely for other faculty to use and/or adapt for your own classes.
