Resources for Immigrant Students (documented, undocumented, Dreamers): Articles on immigration

Journalistic articles

The following sources news media are generally well respected, well researched, and will generally either strive for balance and/or show some bias toward being sympathetic to immigrants:

New York Times news articles on immigration (updated on an ongoing basis)

Washington Post news articles on immigration (updated on an ongoing basis)

Can the Trump Administration Deport DACA Recipients? from The Atlantic magazine

The Nation magazine articles on immigration (updated on an ongoing basis)

Mother Jones magazine articles on immigration (updated on an ongoing basis)

People who want to defend the well-being and rights of immigrants may also find it useful to understand what anti-immigrant media are telling their readers in order to know what that side is thinking.

For these purposes, there are conservative news sources such as the National Review (more traditional in tone) and Fox News (more sensationlistic) which are considered mainstream conservative sources. There are also more extreme right-wing media such as Breitbart, which until recently was considred far on the fringes of media, and has a widespread reputation for inventing false reports and spreading hateful rumor, but which has gained an increasingly strong influence since the November elections.
