New York City Public Libraries: Brooklyn Public Library

A guide to the three public library systems of our city. No matter which borough you live in, you can get a free library card at all three systems.

Overview for Brooklyn Public

The Brooklyn Public Library has 60 locations. It is its own system (not part of the NYPL), but you don't have to live in Brooklyn to get a free library card! Anyone who lives, studies, or works in New York State can get a free library card.

You can borrow books, CDs, magazines, and DVDS and return them to any Brooklyn branch.
