    States’ Long-Term Care (LTC) Ombudsman programs work to resolve problems related to the health, safety, welfare, and rights of individuals who live in LTC facilities, such as nursing homes, board and care and assisted living facilities, and other residential care communities. Ombudsman programs promote policies and consumer protections to improve long-term services and supports at the facility, local, state, and national levels.

  34. Away From Her
    "During the twilight of their years, Grant is forced to face the fact that Fiona's "forgetfulness" actually is Alzheimer's. After Fiona wanders away and is found, the decision is made for her to go into a nursing home. For the first time in their relationship, they are forced to undergo a separation since the nursing home has a "no-visitors" policy for the first 30 days of a patient's stay. When Grant visits Fiona after the orientation period, he is devastated to find out that not only has she seemingly forgotten him, but she has transferred her affections to another man."

  35. Driving Miss Daisy
    This film centers the relationship between Daisy Werthan, a Jewish retired teacher, and Hoke Colburn, the African American driver her son hires to her drive her after she crashes her car. "Miss Daisy realizes that she is also the victim of prejudice, and she gradually overcomes her subconscious bigotry to see Hoke as a true friend. Beginning in frostiness, their slow changing relationship mirrors the changing racial climate in the south through the burgeoning of civil rights movement."

    "This program discusses care at the end of life, primarily focusing on palliative care of individuals and their families. The program's focus is on spiritual and supportive aspects of care rather than physical care."

    In this film "17 senior citizens, many of them learn how to ride a motorcycle for the first time, embark on what may be the most daring adventures of their lives: a 13-day-entirely-on-motorcycle tour around the island of Taiwan."

    "Am inspiring look at a senior women's basketball team in North Carolina...Following the team for a yearlong season culminating in a trip to the National Senior Games Championship, this heartwarming film is an uplifting tale of overcoming life's obstacles, proving that the love of the game is something that can be embraced at any age."
