CAP 201 - No Fear

1. How are some of the specific information genres in the field/discipline created--what’s the process?

One genre that psychologists create are the notes they take in a therapy session. Counselors create skills and techniques to help their patients based on notes they take when working with clients. This blog post published in the magazine Psychology Today gives information about taking notes in therapy sessions.

2. What kinds of information or evidence do people in this discipline use when they do formal research and where do they get it from?

The scientific method is essentially a step-by-step procedure that researchers can use to determine whether or not there is a relationship between two or more variables. Human behavior is frequently explained by psychologists and other social scientists. On a more casual level, people make daily judgments about the intentions, motivations, and actions of others.

3. What are the typical steps in the formal research process, in what order do these steps typically occur, and at what stages is “iteration” likely?

1.Make a note of it.
2.Pose a query.
3.Create a hypothesis, or a testable explanation.
4.Based on the hypothesis, make a prediction.
5.Validate the prediction.
6.Iterate: make new hypotheses or predictions based on the results.

4. When in their work do individuals use brainstorming to consider a wide range of options, and when do they need to narrow down the list of options to focus more?

my interview was Leo, he is a psycological couseling social worker at Hostos community college, he do a lot of brainstorming where he  take notes in his job. everytime that he learn a new information he narrow down every little piece of information that help him in his job discipline. he do a lot of brainstorming with the purporse of learn new information. by doing brainstorming he learn a lot and he provide his knowledge and  tools in his job. brainstorming allows people to think more freely without fear and judgment. brainstorming help people to solve problems and gave them a lot of ideas. brainstorming creates opportunities to explore each ideas in a good way. brainstorming encouraging all student to share their ideas. brainstorming gave people the opportunities to thinks without interruptions. for Leo brainstorming generate ideas and he come up with creative solutions to problem.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 By Arnery Ortiz

5. How often and in what ways are individuals likely to be surprised by information they've learned, and how might these surprises force them to change their research plan?

a lot of people repeat their research methods when they information they collete are not valuable. when a hypothesis is test and you dont see a good hypothesis people attent to change the research. sometime we change the research because the information are not trustworthy. we not sure about the information we changed the research in many times.
